Westchester County FAVOR - Veterans Discount Card Program

FAVOR - "Find and Assist Veterans of Record" - is a newly created program where local businesses offer discounts on their goods or services to men and women who have proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Similar programs have already been successfully launched in neighboring Hudson Valley counties.

The county sees this as an opportunity for local businesses to stand up and show their support for U.S. troops while benefiting from a little economic boost of their own. The FAVOR program will also bring in new customers and help cultivate the personal relationships that are so important in making small businesses thrive and grow.

Merchants in the program provide a discount to honorably discharged veterans who shop or use their facility or business and present the FAVOR I.D. card. Currently, Over 100 area merchants have signed up. The size and nature of discounts are completely at the discretion of the individual businesses. Participating merchants' names, addresses and discount specifics are listed on the Westchester County FAVOR site and will be included in a pamphlet to be distributed annually to Westchester's returning veterans.

Veterans joining the FAVOR program are issued a picture I.D. card certifying their eligibility. They have to show their discharge papers (DD- 214), VA Card or Military ID Cards for Active, Reservist or Retired vets in order to receive the discount card.

FAVOR Card distribution

FAVOR cards may be obtained anywhere county parks passes are issued:
• the County Center in White Plains
• the Parks administration offices located at 450 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley;
• Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River;
• Croton Point Park in Croton;
• Playland Park
• any of the six county golf courses (when open).

Delphi Real Estate will be offering a 10% discount on the commission earned by Delphi on any house or condominium sale to holders of the FAVOR card.
