MARBLE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD:
In 1818 the town's first marble quarry was opened. The quarries produced heavily for almost a century and the extremely high quality of "Tuckahoe marble" was in great demand. Among the structures in which the marble was used are: in Washington, D.C., the Government Printing Office and the General Post Office; in New York City, the main Public Library, Grace Episcopal Church, the Custom House and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Locally the marble can be seen at Immaculate Conception Church on Winter Hill Road, the Samuel Fee building on Main Street and in various sections of Eastchester in the stone walls surrounding some of the older homes.

SCHOOLS: Tuckahoe Union Free School - the Village of Tuckahoe is within the school districts No. 1 (4 elementary, 1 junior, and 1 high school) and No. 2 (1 elementary, 1 junior, 1 high school) of the Town of Eastchester. Parochial schools - Assumption and Immaculate Conception.

SHOPPING: Local shopping on Main Street. Malls and shopping centers in Eastchester on Route 22. Wide variety of retail shops. Central Avenue is a major Shopping area nearby. 10 minute drive to White Plains.

RECREATION: In addition, the largest lake on the Bronx River Parkway is in Tuckahoe. Accessible a short distance away in the City of Yonkers is the Sprain Lake Golf Course of the Westchester County Park Commission. Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester is open to public membership.
